Frequently asked questions

Straight answers about how sourcing from China works with LIT International.

Busy container port with cranes and stacked shipping containers

What does a China sourcing agent do?

+

A China sourcing agent represents you, the buyer, in China. LIT International finds and verifies factories, negotiates price and MOQ, manages samples and production, inspects goods before shipment, consolidates orders and arranges shipping to your port.

How much does LIT International charge?

+

Our fee is a percentage of the product value, agreed upfront and shown on every quote, with no hidden markup on factory prices. Industry rates for sourcing agents generally sit between 5% and 10% depending on order size and complexity. Inspection and freight are quoted separately at cost-plus rates you can see.

Do you work with importers in India?

+

Yes. Our office is in New Delhi and our sourcing team is in Yiwu, China. We ship to Nhava Sheva, Mundra, Chennai, Kolkata and inland ICDs such as Tughlakabad and Patparganj in Delhi, and we prepare India-compliant labelling for MRP and Legal Metrology.

What is the minimum order quantity (MOQ)?

+

There is no fixed MOQ for working with us. Each factory sets its own MOQ — typically 100–500 units for Yiwu market goods and 500–3,000 units for custom or branded products. We negotiate lower MOQs where possible and can combine several small orders into one shipment.

How long does it take to import from China to India?

+

Plan for about 6–10 weeks end to end: around 1 week for sourcing and samples, 2–5 weeks of production, 15–25 days of sea freight, and 3–7 days for customs clearance. Air freight cuts the shipping leg to roughly 3–7 days.

Can you deliver door to door with duty paid?

+

Yes. With our DDP (Delivered Duty Paid) service you get one all-in price covering pickup in China, freight, Indian customs clearance, duty and delivery to your warehouse, shop or Amazon FBA.

Can you help finance my import order?

+

We don't lend money ourselves. We protect your cash with milestone payments — the balance is released only after inspection passes — and introduce you to partner banks and NBFCs for letters of credit, import loans and working capital, subject to their approval.

Do you offer free samples?

+

Yes. Samples are free — you only pay the courier cost to your address. Test the product first, then order in bulk at tiered quantity prices.

Can you inspect goods I bought from my own supplier?

+

Yes. We run standalone factory audits and pre-shipment inspections for suppliers you found yourself, anywhere in our coverage area in China.

How do I pay Chinese suppliers safely?

+

Pay by bank transfer (T/T) to the supplier's registered company account after verifying the account name matches the business licence. The common structure is a 30% deposit and 70% balance after a passed pre-shipment inspection.

Do you handle customs clearance in India?

+

We prepare all export documents in China and coordinate clearance at destination through your customs broker or our partner broker. You will need your own Import Export Code (IEC) to import into India.
